This Mother’s Day we engaged some amazing creative ladies who are making a mark with their talent. We asked them to share their mom’s wedding pictures and tell us a unique quality of hers. The answers were lovely, read them yourself, below!
Anam Falak – Makeup Artist, Entrepreneur
This is a photo from my mother’s Nikkah. She had a separate wedding reception after. It was the first time anyone from her very strict Pashtun family married an outsider, who was a Punjabi. What really surprised me was that even back then she told me her makeup was done by Tariq Amin on her events! I think he still works even today.
Uzma Babar – Fashion Designer
Uzma while talking about her mom’s wedding dress; She wore a saree on her Valima day, which I found quite unique, keeping it classy and minimalistic
Bia Alina – Fashion Blogger, Entrepreneur
This was my mom on her wedding day. It has always been my favourite picture of hers that was taken right after the event was over. I can only wish to emulate the beauty and radiance that she did. She looks gorgeous!
Sara Ali – Make Up Artist and an Entrepreneur
My amma taught us so much just by practicing it all herself and we just observed and followed ! Sometimes we want our kids to behave in a certain way however we conduct ourselves in a complete different manner ! Kids are the best mimics so be the best of yourself and your kids will just follow!
Aisha Talha – Fashion/Wedding Photographer
The immense strength my mother showed when we lost our father still amazes me. Raising 5 kids in this society is truly a remarkable thing and my mother made sure to show us strength and positivity even during our toughest and dark times. Had it not been for her, neither I nor my siblings would’ve been able to achieve anything in our life, we owe everything to her
Zenia Khan – Makeup Artist, Fashion Blogger
While talking about her mom’s wedding makeup; What I find unique is that they’ve contoured her cheeks using blush and she isn’t wearing false lashes but still looks so breathtaking. Her makeup was done at Depilex by Massarat Misbah’s sister.
Alishba Chapsi – Fashion and Lifestyle blogger
I was going through my parents’ wedding album recently and came across these gorgeous pictures of my mom. Mother’s Day always inspires me to speak about my mom and these pictures added some extra inspiration. The thing that stands out the most about these photographs is how calm and composed my mom is. I know my mom really well and she always gets worried about every little thing so I’m sure she was extremely nervous with a million things going on in her mind. But she looks so beautifully confident and seeing her like this gives me the confidence to be strong like her.
Khadeja – Fashion Blogger
My mom prefers candids over posey pictures so I clearly don’t get it from her But what I do get is the khoobsurat genes and the insane amount of resilience and courage this woman has for everything that life has thrown her way, and of course this stunning saari. I took my own spin on it, utilized all of the borders and the stunningly intricate work on this whole saari into a front open gown.
